I am currently working on “Sarah’s List.” It’s a story about a wife with the seemingly perfect life coming home drunk from a girl’s night and expressing her fantasies to her husband. She wakes up without recollection of sharing anything but quickly realizes that she did. She just doesn’t know how much. Her husband, Jack, who has excelled at everything in life, is cut to the bone when he finds out that Sarah is “fine” with their “adequate sex life.”
I’m finding more and more humor showing up in my stories, which has been fun. If I have any challenge with this one, it is deciding how long it should be. My sweet spot had always been 20k words, but I am afraid this will be hard to do the story justice in that space. I guess we will all find out soon enough.

I am answering this for my first novella, Dream Works. I met an artist who only painted ideas inspired by her dreams. She was not overtly sexual, but there were hints of sexuality in some of her work. For some reason, the idea popped into my head: Imagine what the art might look like of a highly sexual artist who could only express her desire and passion through art? I pondered finding the artist and thanking her for the inspiration, but I think the odds are she might be offended at the nature of the book. But that wouldn’t be on her. That’s all on me.
