Hi, Kristie. I'm always up for reviews. Can you tell me where your reviews would be listed? Is this just a GoodReads thing? Would normal ePub format work?

Writer's block is like depression. It's a mental state where you think that no good paths exist. It's an illusion caused by an excess of self-analysis. I avoid it by knowing one simple rule: First drafts are always crap. It doesn't matter how crappy your first draft is. When you go back and re-read it, you'll find ways to make it better, but you have to start somewhere.

Dance like nobody is watching, and write like nobody is ever going to read it. Actually, scratch that. Unlike dancing, the entire purpose of writing is to communicate with others, even if it's yourself in the future.
If you want to be good at writing, you have to know who your audience is. If you want to be POPULAR, then you have to appeal to a large audience, but to be good, you just have to know your audience.

Inspiration follows me like a cloud of gnats. I don't need to actually do anything. I'm lucky like that.

I get the same enjoyment from writing that I get from reading a good book.

I'm currently working on book 2 of The Fermi Project. This expands on the existing story the same way the second half of book 1 expended on the first half. The full story arc is designed to be told over four books.

Everyone knows the Arthur C Clark quote that starts "A sufficiently advanced technology..." I developed a character in an RPG who came from a world that typified the inverse; "A sufficiently advanced magic is indistinguishable from technology." Over a few decades, I theorized what that might look like, and how magic could be reduced to an internally consistent set of rules.
I've seen a few Urban Fantasy/Horror attempts at this, but the main character's origin required me to come up with a new universe. Of course, I couldn't help but create a universe with rules as consistent as the magic. It was a fun challenge.
