My idea actually came from a quote that came to me during a meditation. "Is the grass really greener on the other side or is it simply artificial?" I posted the quote but hadn't thought anything of it until months later. It popped into my head again and I just started thinking about what that would look like? Who would want to see if the grass is greener? Elle materialized and I decided to just start writing to see where it would go. Once I began, I couldn't stop!

My advice is simple: just write. Write about anything without editing yourself. I think so often we are afraid to really get down our thoughts and immediately think about what others will think. When you tell those "back seat drivers" to take a nap and focus on what is making you happy and fueling you, so much beauty comes out.
Also, don't overwhelm yourself with step 1 because you're already thinking about step 10. What I mean by that is... don't make yourself stressed wondering how you'll publish your book before you even get your story out. The rest will all fall into place, I promise!

For me, I think about what feeling I want to convey first. Then, I set the mood. I'll play music that makes me feel the emotion I'm trying to capture. I'll eat foods and drink drinks that make me feel as though I'm in the scene. It instantly gets me into the mind-frame I needed and I let the words flow.
