Dean C. Ferraro I got the idea for my most recent book as I was wrapping up my first book, Murder in Santa Barbara. The ending led me to the setting for my second book in the Joshua Rizzetti series. Once I settled on the location, the main plot and twists started unfolding from there.
Dean C. Ferraro For me, the key to dealing with writer's block is to just start writing. Even if it's very basic sentences, better ideas will start to flow just by engaging in the process of writing.
Dean C. Ferraro The joy from entertaining a reader enough for them to leave a positive book review. Knowing you have moved someone enough to spend their precious time reading your book, and then more time expressing their gratitude for having read it, is priceless.
Dean C. Ferraro Stay focused and try to write at least a little bit every day. If you can do that, before you know it, your book will be completed. Writing is a lot of small steps. Thinking of it that way keeps you from becoming overwhelmed.
Dean C. Ferraro When I was in college, after having written my essay for my law school applications, I had some friends proof read it, to give me feedback, before I submitted my applications. The response from every single one of them was a slight variation of the same message… “you shouldn’t go to law school, you should be a writer!” But with tunnel vision, and my sights set on law school, my writing career gathered dust on the back of the shelf for almost three decades before I became determined to complete my first novel.
Dean C. Ferraro I am currently working on my second legal thriller novel, Murder in Vail. The main character is the same as in my first novel, Murder in Santa Barbara. Murder in Vail should be released sometime in 2022.
