Buddy Ray I deal with writer's block with what is known as directed dreaming, or creative dreaming. Before I retire for the night I hold a picture in my mind of where the story has stopped. I try to hold that in my mind until I fall asleep. Many times I have dreamed of something that gave me a fresh perspective, and usually an end to the block.
Buddy Ray The best thing about being a writer is the ability to create, and have others visit that world you created.
Buddy Ray My best advice is to sit down and write something, anything. My style is similar to other authors who, to put it crudely but accurately, "puke it out, clean it up later."
Buddy Ray I'm currently working on a prequel and sequel to Jerusalem Descending, a Kindle Vella serial titled Rage, and a story about a Tennessee mountain family in the early 1800s.
Buddy Ray I'm inspired by questions of what if. I enjoy exploring alternate paths and the consequences of making different choices.
Buddy Ray My most recent book, Rage, available on Kindle Vella as a serial, was based in part on an encounter I had many years ago with a decrepit, shabbily dressed old man in a cowboy hat who turned out to be a wealthy coal miner who owned his own island, private jet, and a Rolls Royce.
