Find fellow creatives you can chat over things with. Push through the hard times, doing what you can to make them manageable (i.e. give yourself time to breath). Track at least some of what you're doing (in terms of drafting, revising, submitting, and publishing; I'm sure there's more), so that you don't create extra work for yourself in the future.

Work on one of the other projects I have going at the same time. Start a new one. Or work on a different section. That, or it's time to step away and take a breather.

Immersion. Immersing myself in the lives of the characters and dreams that haunt me. Then having that immersion take shape in finely tuned words and then hearing from those special readers who really engaged with the work.

Another final editing pass of my cyberpunk/supernatural horror novel. It's gotten much faster paced and some readers called it frenetic, which is pretty much exactly how I wanted it. Looking forward to sharing this with readers on day hopefully not too many years into the future.

I got the idea for Stone Shaper Tanukis Estranged published in Dark Cheer: Cryptids Emerging - Volume Blue by combining real life disaster with observations made of Japanese mythological creatures. It's a combination of my real life experience with parent-child estrangement during a child custody battle in the broken Japanese system and my time traveling through Japan. While working at various kindergartens and other schools, I found various shrines with statues of tanuki or foxes, some of which were located beside the schools themselves or some just found alongside bars or parks on the way to the train stations. These inspired me to look into the mythos deeper and see how I could combine them into my stories. This developed into a much larger near future fictional world that you'll see more of in a loose sequel to be published later in 2022/2023, and in other stories currently in the works. These may all combine to create a novel further down the line.
