Paityn E. Parque I can for sure answer that my family is not scared of me nor for me. The only person that's scared of me is me. I'm scared of myself per se. And that's because I surprise myself and my family of how intelligent I can be at times. I'm usually dumb and funny. I have no common sense, so writing and publishing a book is very contradicting to my intellect.

But on a serious note, I've always been surrounded by reality at a young age. The harsh reality of violence, injustice, and corruption. I'm a huge gamer, and have gamed ever since I understood what a controller was. My dad and I used to play my all-time favorite game, Gears of War, together every night before he stopped playing. We used to play COD a lot, as well as BO2 zombies together. So, I was always surrounded by gory, violent video games. Maybe not at the right age, but I think it made me mature much faster and I'm glad I'm more tomboy-ish than girly...XD

I also read 24/7. And those books were always post-apocalyptic. Whether it surrounded the end of the world, zombies (my personal favorite!), or some other dangerous event, I'd be all in. The first ever book that got me hooked was the Enemy Series by Charlie Higson.

My parents expect nothing less of me if I created another book retaining elements like Madness. I'm a straightforward and brutally honest person. Though I'm young, I understand a lot of horrible concepts in this world. I wrote Madness, not only for my enjoyment, but to show readers what people are truly like. We're all sinful creatures, but what differs others from good and evil is their intentions and motives. It's frustrating to see people shunt their faces away from corruption, greed, and other sins.

I know that I'm only one person, one person's thoughts and opinions lost in a sea of others. My opinion may not go noticed, but I want to make sure that it's out there. Exploiting these sins, especially corruption and evil, will make people realize a lot of horrific truths about this world. The truth hurts, but in order to be successful you have to knock down everything and rebuild your life higher than it was before.

My answer was a bit lengthy, but I hope you enjoy reading Madness!
Paityn E. Parque Madness is my most recent published book, and like most people, I was day dreaming. Or more so night-dreaming; I do that a lot. And like most, we always center ourselves as the main character.

The idea just sort of popped into my head one night, and I added onto the story each night before I went to bed. Until, one night I couldn't get enough of it. I originally had no idea where I was going, but I just decided to write the Prologue of Madness and build off of there. I've written other books, but never got the chance to publish because of my writing; I wrote them when I was younger, so my grammar/syntax wasn't the best.

One day, I want to rewrite them and bring them to life.
Paityn E. Parque The Gone Series, by Michael Grant.

I would totally develop powers and stir up some kind of trouble. Apocalyptical/dystopian books are my secret weakness.
Paityn E. Parque My grandfather, who unfortunately passed years back, was a proclaimed author like me. He published a few books traditionally, one about how he met my grandmother back in Vietnam when he was deployed during the Vietnam War.
I think taking after him would have made him so happy. If only he could see me now - I did it.

Fulfilling my dreams of just publishing a book is definitely one of the best things. It doesn't matter how many I sell, I just want people to enjoy what I enjoy. Writing is an outlet to me, not just a blank piece of paper that you have to fill words with. Sometimes, I view writing as a way of self-expression, rather than a novel. Authors spew their mind and hearts into books, and I think that precious perspective of people taking the time to read your masterpiece is the best thing about being a writer. You took all this time to write this novel, and now it's going to get recognized.
Paityn E. Parque I'm currently working on two novels right now: The sequel to Madness, and a short, companion novel of a different character's backstory (Zag).
Paityn E. Parque Well, first off, if I can do it, then you can too! Getting my first book published took me over an entire year to do so. And at one point, I totally gave up on it. I was too busy with school and volleyball to devote my entire time to it, let alone overcome my major writer's block.

If you truly wanted something, you would make time for it. My advice for all those authors out there, regardless of their age, is to just keep persevering. Keep writing. Can't write? Then revise the work you already have. Can't edit? Then brainstorm ideas for new books. It always gives the mind a fresh restart if you switch up the content you're writing.
