Danny Tuttle Middle Earth. I would then attempt to convince Galadriel that I'm better for her than that Celeborn fellow.
Danny Tuttle I read; Many different story types. Looking for any ideas that might work. I never wait for inspiration - I don't think I'm lucky enough to have a muse.
Danny Tuttle Don't expect to make any money. Writing is for the few readers left.
Danny Tuttle A dry and boring sequence of scientific events inspired me to write The Prophet Paradox. It began with the 1987A supernova, which most people haven't heard of. It was a newly visible star in the southern sky, of average brightness, lasting a few months, and which most people didn't notice. But it was the first supernova visible to the naked eye in 400 years and astronomers were very excited. There was also a physics experiment involving particles called neutrinos which was running when the supernova occurred, and this experiment detected neutrinos in real time from the supernova. And so physicists were also exited. I know this all sounds very boring.

I realized at the time that I could write a story in which a physicist detected neutrinos from a very bright supernova, and then actually predicted the appearance of the new star 12-24 hours before it appeared in the sky. And then people would mistake him for a prophet. From there the story grew in the telling. A lot. But that was 30 years ago, and I put the book on the back burner because I couldn't find a publisher. Then, in 2020, I heard that I could self-publish for free on Amazon, so I rewrote the story. The story's not about science or religion. It's about what we all see and whether we see what we want to see and why we believe the things we believe, whether we really see them or not.
