Sara Violet Scully I'll be honest, I binge Christmas romance novels and Hallmark movies. I am not ashamed. In fact, I love them so much that I had to create one of my own. There's something really comforting about a holiday-themed small-town romance. There's something about leaving the city and getting closer to nature that feels like anything can happen. There's so much growth. It might be my favorite trope. So, I put my own little twist on it and dreamed up a fictional little town near Yellowstone in Idaho to set the stage. The rest is... well... you know.
Sara Violet Scully Definitely Middle Earth. I would go to the Shire and just sit in a garden or in an armchair by a hearth reading a good book, drinking tea, and eating cheese. Then, if I really wanted to get buck wild, I might go to the Green Dragon Inn for a pint or two.
Sara Violet Scully I've noticed a lot of new road trip/vacation romances this summer, and I have quite a few of them on my TBR list, such as: "People We Meet on Vacation" by Emily Henry, "The Layover" by Lacie Waldon, and "The Road Trip" by Beth O'Leary.

I think I gravitated toward these books because I haven't been able to go on vacation in years and I feel like I need to live vicariously through these characters.
Sara Violet Scully I get inspired to write romance novels by reading romance novels. But most of the time I am not inspired to write but I do it anyway.
Sara Violet Scully I don't believe writer's block is this big thing. Talking things out with a trusted friend or fellow writer can help you find solutions to writing challenges. Otherwise, the best way to overcome writer's block is to write your way through it; write anything, so long as you keep on writing. You can always edit later.
Sara Violet Scully I'm working on a contemporary romance novel about a divorced painter and her path to recovery and finding true love. Following her divorce from her manipulative psychologist husband, Emily is looking to reclaim her house and her life. With the help of her Scottish gardener, Roban, can she pick up the pieces and move forward with her painting career? Guess you'll have to read it to find out!
