Dan Lutts I don't know because I've never had it.
Dan Lutts That's a good question. When I was in the Boy Scouts, I was friends with another scout, Guy Kimbrough. His father was a naval commander. One day, Guy told me that he had taken a photo of a flying saucer. A few days later, some people from the government appeared at Guy's doorstep and asked if they could borrow the photo. They promised to return it when they were finished inspecting it, but they never did. Guy suspected they were hiding something. I think Guy's experience could be turned into an interesting story.
Dan Lutts I actually came up with the book's ending first, but don't recall what I was doing when I thought of it. Then I backtracked and created the characters, the world of Caldon, the plot line, and other components of the story. I have 99 pages of notes on Caldon's history, society, charms, and other things, and keep adding to it.
Dan Lutts Right now I'm working on the second draft of Revenge of the Estati, the second book in the Charm Wars series. You can read Chapter 1 on my website, danlutts.com.
Dan Lutts A whole bunch, including A Map of Days by Ransom Riggs, Sword at Sunset by Rosemary Sutcliff, King's Cage by Victoria Aveyard, Blood and Thunder by Hampton Sides, and D-Day Girls by Sarah Rose. Marie Sutcliff is one of my favorite authors and some of her books are difficult to get. Sutcliff was also a remarkable woman who overcome a horrible physical handicap as a child and ended up writing YA novels about Roman Britain and King Arthur.
