Ruth E. Hanson My education is film history and screenwriting. During one of my classes, we discussed not only the concept of "slow cinema" but the historical relation between Westerns and an idealized America. I wanted to write a book that not only indulged my love of detail and history, but one that represented so many of those faces that have been routinely excluded from other western media.
