Sarah Todman I was inspired by my childhood growing up in a pub in outback Queensland. I really wanted to explore a setting like this in a story. And my youngest child was born on New Year's Eve, which got me thinking about how being born on a significant day in the calendar year can colour a person's life.
Sarah Todman It's not revelatory, but...keep writing. When I started my writing journey many years ago, I was impatient to reach the destination of becoming a published author. When this didn't happen with speed I came to realise the biggest prize is the act of writing. And with each sentence, honing my craft.
Sarah Todman I try to get moving (go for a walk or a swim) and I try to nourish my creativity with good content (listen to a podcast, music, watch a film or a show).
