Shelli Rottschafer My process is calculated and organized. Before I end a day of writing, I always write a sentence or two, a paragraph, or map out some ideas. This I leave for my next day of writing so that I know where I left off in order to begin again.

Shelli Rottschafer Stay North is inspired by my love of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. It is one of my places of refuge. The story itself germinated in my mind over several years, influenced by Jim Harrison's novellas and also Ernest Hemingway's short stories. It is a Place-Based novella, and I have personally primitive backpacked and camped on Grand Island. It is a gem in Lake Superior near Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
