Another novel in the same world. It doesn't have a title yet, but it's exciting to write something new after far too many years editing my first novel.

Besides the standard read a lot and write a lot, I'd suggest not to get bogged down with rules (e.g. don't use adverbs, etc.) as the number one thing you're probably struggling with is actually writing consistently. A lot of the "rules" are not consistently followed even by the people who came up with them.

This normally happens on the first draft when getting stuck with the right phrase or word. I solve it by putting some placeholder text in like "There was a big fight and Lena ended up with a bloody nose" and moving on. I'll have to fix it later but will at least make progress somewhere else in the manuscript.
