Walk away from my keyboard. You can't force words that aren't coming. I usually head to gym, take a walk, or do something else to clear my head. Then, I come back to my computer -- hours, not days, later. If you wait days, you might never pick up your story again. Take a couple of hours away from your keyboard and then try to pick it up again.

Working in my PJs. I'm only partly kidding. I'm wearing striped flannel ones as I type this right now. Actually, everything about being an author is great. I love that my job is to make things up. Any other job and that's ground for firing, but it's essential in my line of work.

Don't give up. The only difference between a published author and an unpublished one was that the published one didn't give up. Take a class, have your work edited or critiqued. Writing is a learned skill as much as an art, and you can get better at your craft. It takes tenacity, though. So keep at it. Amazing things can happen.

I'm currently working on the second romance set in Hawaii, tentatively called Her Hawaiian Love. This is a story about a woman who falls in love with an extreme, big wave surfer. These guys surf waves taller than eight-foot-story buildings and it's a very dangerous sport.

My newest novel, Her Hawaiian Homecoming, is a novel set in my favorite place on earth. I fell in love with Hawaii at age nine and it's been a lifelong love affair. The place truly is paradise, and I'm really excited to bring readers there. It's a love story set on a Kona coffee plantation (my other love - nothing beats Kona coffee)!
