An error occurred while sorting questions for author David Gardner.
Just wanted you can find a cookbook for cooking that can of Spam in the Spam cookbook.?I served in the Marines ( Force Recon ) and with the Army with the 82nd. I would have loved the Spam on my 4 Yr. tour in the field. Missing out on your book is missing out but I'm sure I will buy it and donate it to the VA hospital. I buy and donate tons of books to the VA. The vets can't afford it so they give me titles and I buy .

I too was in the 82nd before I joined Special Forces, way back when. We sometimes ate C-rations in the field. Spam would have been a nice change.
My wife says her father used to fry Spam.

Hi David, Congrat's ? on winning your can of Spam.... It's great with eggs, or cut it up with cheese (valvetta) and onions and stuff it in hamburgers and cook in the oven till the cheese melts. I used to like Spam when I was a kid. The stuff is the object of ridicule (yeah, I'm guilty), but from what I've read, it was a lifesaver for the British during WWII and probably a lot of Americans living on the edge at the time. I don't want to know what went into it, however.
