If I'm on a deadline I will skip ahead to another part of the story and work on that. Or pull up another short piece that needs editing and work on that.
Sometimes though, if that doesn't work, then a walk, a bath or very loud music and dancing or cleaning my house can help dislodge the block.
Although I don't really think of it as a block, more that my brain is telling me I need something different for a short while.

At the moment I'm working on a collection of short stories. This will be a mixture of very short/Flash Fiction and short stories from 1000 words- 5000 words. I'm preparing these for an editor right now and have commissioned an artist to create the book cover. In fact, she has just forwarded me a draft and I'm blown away. I'm so excited to share. I'm aiming for a publication date of 9th April 2022 but will share the cover, hopefully before the end of the calendar year.
