I got the idea for The Wing Thief after making up a story to entertain my son whilst waiting for an appointment. The characters I created stuck with me and I felt like it could be a story that people would really enjoy!

The best thing about being a writer is when you meet someone who's read what you've written and loved it! There's nothing quite like the feeling of having your book, that you have poured your heart and soul into, reach people and have them tell you so.

Take a break and read. I believe that the more you read, the better you will write. Another helpful tip is to get outside - go for a walk and clear your mind. I think the worst thing to do, when suffering with writer's block, is force yourself to write when you're struggling for inspiration.
