Hi Linda! Book 2 of the Elements series came out this summer. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
and I'm working on a cozy mystery series that isn't on GR yet but book 1 published last week and book 2 will come out in January 2024.

Every time I see something washed up on the beach, I think "Where did this come from?" I'd love the ability to touch an item and see its history.

Getting inspired to write isn't a problem. I just have to watch the news, read a newspaper, or scroll through social and I have plot bunnies bouncing everywhere. Staying focused on one story is my challenge. I've joined several sprint groups and I use a visual timer. Those help me stay focused.

Mystery! I've been writing the final chapters of The Activator, book 2 in the Elements series and the follow up for the The Keystone. At the end it unravels a mystery, starts a rebellion, and accidentally enters a Dakar-style off road race through an alien planet. Can't wait for you to read it!

Hi Caitlin, I'm a little late in answering this, but I have exciting news. The next book in the series is "The Activator" and it will be out in July! I'm working on the cover now and it is amazing. The designer did an incredible job at translating the off-world experience onto the cover. I can't wait to show it to everyone.
I am looking for ARC readers now so message me through my website if interested.

This one is easy, and timely....
"Taxes are due soon and you are out of coffee." She said.
See how I played with the cultural fear in-grained in all adults and added in an existential crises of want and need converging on supply. Yeh, pretty scary.

The idea for The Keystone came to me like a path on a map and I started writing the story like I was traveling to a destination. Then I realized I was reading the trip path in reverse, and had to restart the story at the end and worked backwards.

I read both, a lot! But I love writing Sci-Fi. Creating a character that reminds you of your humanity and pushing it out into a world that isn't human is like taking the most exciting trip of your life.

The best way is to not push yourself to write in a way that doesn't work for you. Example: some people say to write every day, but that doesn't work for me and adds a lot of pressure. It took me a while to figure out that I write best first thing in the morning, even before coffee. It's so wrong, I'm not a morning person! But apparently thats when my brain is most creative and productive. And I edit best in the afternoons.

I'd have to start at Hogwarts so I could fly on a broomstick and visit Honeydukes. Then I'd visit the elves in Middle-earth. Then I'd finish my trip with a visit to Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. Sweet!

Tell me if this sounds crazy...but I have all these characters bouncing around in my head demanding that their stories be told. The best thing about being a writer is that I can get their stories out there and let them live...

I can't resist a good book so my "to be read" list is pretty long. Right up near the top are these three: Earth Song by Nick Cook, From a Distant Star by Karen McQuestion, and His Name is Wren by Rob Winters.
