It happens, and I no longer freak out about it, although it still is a bit disconcerting.
I do try to write something anyway, even if it is only a couple of sentences. That way, I find I can sometimes write through the "block", but frequently I find the forced effort does not yield a good result - it looks and reads as forced as it was. Nevertheless, there may be a new kernel of an idea in there to be discovered in my re-reading it later.

The challenge and satisfaction of well crafted words filling up a page. An artist probably feels the same way about completing a canvas. There is joy in the creation.
It is nice if others agree and enjoy the completed product, but that is not really necessary because the best part is in the making of the work.
