A series of things converged, as in "The Perfect Storm."
This summer/fall, I heard a sermon series about End Times prophecies and read related texts to improve my understanding. Several times I heard of other churches studying the same subject. Simultaneously, the news was filled with reports of turmoil, pandemic, and nefarious politicians. The duplicity of major news sources was on parade.
Then, while decorating for Christmas and sorting through my DVDs during the "stay home, stay safe" era, I was reminded of both "A Christmas Carol" and "The Wizard of Oz."
These forces converged: The fictional characters and events of "Brave New Year" came to life. The proximity and reality of the End Times prophetic events was reinforced. I saw an opportunity to warn of what's coming soon, encourage readers to prepare themselves, and provide some resources/evidence to help them.
