Alissa J. Zavalianos I started writing in the 4th grade, but more seriously since January of 2020. I haven't stopped since :)
Alissa J. Zavalianos Music, nature, and reading.
LOTR and Two Steps from Hell soundtracks are my favorites. I also love movie scores (instrumentals mostly).
Mountains, birds, the sky, the sun, really anything that lives and breathes or belongs outside gives me inspiration.
There's nothing quite like picking up a good book and falling into a story. When one particularly captivates my interest, I get inspired to write. I would say reading the Bible inspires a lot of my deeper creative thoughts as well.
Alissa J. Zavalianos Middle-earth and Narnia! I want to travel the same paths Bilbo and Frodo travelled, and with the ring of power destroyed, my hope is that the lands would be peaceable enough to pass without any issues. For Narnia, I want to visit the time when the land was just born, listening to Aslan sing the world into existence. I can imagine stumbling into The Wood Between the Worlds would be fascinating as well.
And lastly, I've always held a fondness for Neverland. If I could be part of the Lost Boy tribe for a day, I think I'd be the happiest girl whose childhood dreams were fulfilled.
Alissa J. Zavalianos I have so many! First, I want to finish LOTR. Next, I want to read Kortney Keisel's novels, along with the new Esther Hatch ones AND Heidi Kimball's newest novel coming out in August!! I also have a few other proper romances, fantasy/adventure, and middle grade novels, not to mention a whole lot of classics on my shelf that have been on my TBR for years. So in short, I have TOO many books to read and not enough time haha.
Alissa J. Zavalianos I started writing this novel way back in the spring of 2016, but I picked it back up in January of 2020, rewrote everything, and then finished it in July. My story got edited and I finished implementing those changes around October/November before publishing in December. So in all, the process has taken an entire year.
Alissa J. Zavalianos I have two projects going at once right now. I don't want to give too much away, but I am also tossing around some new ideas. Needless to say, I'm excited!
Alissa J. Zavalianos Keep writing. Even if you think it stinks or you don't know where it's going. Write. And never throw anything away, no matter how awful it is. You never know, you might just take a good idea from the awful heap of garbage. It could be an unopened can of soup or a perfectly good Lindt chocolate that you found underneath the bruised banana peel or moldy cheese. You get the picture...
Alissa J. Zavalianos I have always been inspired by nature and the mountains, plus I love animals, so I wanted to write a story combining all of that. I find that C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien also inspire a lot of what I write: their imagery of light vs. dark, good vs. evil, pride vs. humility, etc. The list is endless..
