Hello Phoebe! I don't have a sequel to Cold Snap currently in the works, but I've definitely been thinking about it lately! Definitely a possibility.

Emotions in Media. I put on music, or I read something, or watch something, or play a game that makes me feel something powerful. And I consume that media until I just can't take it anymore and need to harness it into words on a page. At some point, though, the story becomes its own inspiration.

Honestly, I give in to it. For me, it's usually about stress, so I go and deal with what I'm stressed out about, give writing a little break, and come back to it later feeling fresh.

I have the first draft of a space opera completed. It's about an AI dude who falls in love with a lizardman and they frolic around the galaxy trying not to die. It is definitely dirtier than Cold Snap.

Make writerly friends, join critique circles, join discord servers. Find yourself a welcoming, positive community where you can discuss craft and maybe even exchange critiques. There's only so much progress you can make writing in a vacuum.
