Emily Stormbrook I write, even if it is utter rubbish I open my software and I write something. More often than not I end up deleting and rewriting the whole thing, but I find just writing something helps. Sometimes it isn't even a scene, it's a rant, a vent about how I feel, things that will never see the light of day, never see eyes but my own, but the act of writing something helps me push through any blocks. Although still being fairly new at writing who knows what I will resort to in the future, this is still a new journey for me too.
Emily Stormbrook Everyone always says write for the audience not for yourself. A lot of people won't agree with what I'm about to say, but I say write for yourself, write the kind of story you want to read because I'm pretty sure you won't be the only one looking for it. Of course, marketing is a killer, go in with a plan. Who knew writing a book was the easy part?
Emily Stormbrook The second book in my Addicted to Sin series, Mastering Sin, is currently with my beta reader following the editor's release, the same with the second book of the Elswyth Chase series, Chasing Starlight. With these almost wrapped up, I am free to work on Frozen Hearts, which will be book 3 in the Elswyth Chase series following Cole and Remi's story, but there are a few other series in the work, but you'll have to wait and see.
Emily Stormbrook The best thing about being a writer is the ability to let go of reality and immerse myself in a world of my making. Everyone needs a little escapism, and writing is mine. I deal with a lot of difficult things day in day out, and writing is the thing that liberates me, it's like a reset button for my mind and soul. Some days, I swear, it's the only thing that keeps me sane. If I can be classed as sane to begin with.
