Read in a variety of genres. This will naturally cause you to think outside of the current tropes of your genre. Not that tropes are necessarily bad, but combining ideas from different genres will tend to lead to more original stories.

I find the best way to get out of writer's block is to fall back on routine. Even if you can only write a single paragraph, you're still making progress and even the slowest trickle can eventually turn into a healthy flow of creativity. If I avoid it too long, it just gets harder to get back into the habit.
