I look for stories in everything. I look at the past and present of my life, other people's lives, and news headlines. But mostly, I take stories from the Bible and transport them into new worlds.

I just keep writing. There's a fantastic quote by John Rogers that I keep coming back to: "you can't think yourself out of a writing block, you have to write yourself out of a thinking block." So that's what I do. Sometimes I have to free write, brainstorm, or do more character backstory and development. In any case, I keep writing to get something on the page. The only thing a first draft has to do is exist, it doesn't have to be good.

Currently I am working on book 3 in The Search Series. As of right now book 3 will be the last in this series where you will finally discover how Amina and Aiden's stories end.

Searching for Refuge started with a dream I had over ten years ago. I don't want to say too much about the dream itself because it is in fact the ending of my book, but the dream was so intriguing to me that I wanted to explore this idea about a community forced to live in hiding underground.
