When you hit a wall, start climbing; Pace yourself and go slower. Remember that your finished product won't be any less good because a certain section took longer. Like a great cartoonist once said, creativity can be like putting a leash on a mountain lion.

Understand that writing is not a short process; don't overdo it. Start small, 200-300 words each day until you can get into a rhythm, and then aim higher. Like any art, your writing will improve the more you do it. You, being your own judge, won't notice yourself getting better, and that's okay.
