Eli Ring I am mostly trying to develop a good process for rewriting and editing this year. I finished and published one novel, a few days ago, that I wrote about four years ago. I am working on one I wrote the year before that. The goal is to get it out by year-end. I also have a couple of short stories in process.
Eli Ring I have read "1491", Charles C. Mann twice. It really challenged what I thought I knew about pre-Columbian North America and Mann has an astonishing vocabulary. I am reading "The Great Influenza" by John M. Barry. It's a good read in a pandemic, as is "The Theory That Would Not Die", Sharon Bertsch McGrayne, which is a history of Bayesian statistics. Finally, to honor J.K. Rowling for standing up to cancel culture attacks, I am reading through the Harry Potter series.
Eli Ring It was the result of a thought experiment. I was trying to talk my brother into collaborating on a novel. To do so, I wrote a two-page synopsis of a story and sent it to him. He passed on the idea, so I later used it as the basis for the novel I was writing for NaNoWriMo in 2016. The idea of two brothers working together toward a common goal probably came from the notion of working together on a book.
