D.R. O'Shea I suppose I deal with it by having a fully formed outline. I start with a high level view, maybe three main points - the beginning, middle and end. Then I dig down a bit. I write a few pages of a detailed outline for the story. Focusing on large scenes. The words in between those huge scenes are the hardest part for me. Finding a way to bring my story together was difficult.
BUT, I've only written one book as of this response. I haven't truly had to deal with a block, only lack of motivation.
D.R. O'Shea I'm currently working on book two of The Last of Ryn Dvarek. I really hope to get on a solid schedule of writing and editing so it doesn't take years to publish.
D.R. O'Shea The short answer is: It just came to me.

The longer answer is: I had just finished reading my summer list a while back, maybe five years or more. It was late at night and I was frustrated that a decade had passed and my favorite author had yet to put out the finale to an amazing series. I decided right then, 'I could write a story'. The first thing that popped in my head was an idea for dreams (probably because it was so late). It evolved over time to be a story about magic realism and how different points of view can impact the narrative.
