Moe Lane When I was a kid, I saw what I thought was a UFO. Now I know it was 'just' a plane of unknown type, probably military. From below it looked a lot like the Space Shuttle would, in fact. What was that plane?
Moe Lane This world is a prison, created by *yourself*, just to trap and torment you in it, forever. And, deep in your heart: you know that you deserve every bit of it.
Moe Lane I wouldn't travel to any of them. I think that it was S.M. Stirling who noted that 'adventure' means 'somebody else, in deep ...ah, trouble, far away.' I would probably try to leave at the earliest opportunity, and destroy whatever mechanism that had tried to strand me there.

:frantic offstage muttering and exclamations:

:brightly, looking straight ahead: Ha-ha! Just kidding! I'd go to Middle-Earth, of course, and become a bard.
Moe Lane Right now I'm working through Devolution and Normandy '44 from my list; I figure that there'll be a few more when I'm done, but those are the ones currently on my radar.
Moe Lane I take a nap. ...And I'm up against minimum word count requirements. Fine, I take a long, decadent nap, my head nestled in sybaritic languor against the pillow. Or I eat something, or do something else. I don't often get writer's block, and I have a sneaking suspicion that... well. Never mind.
Moe Lane Getting paid. Mind you, writing is fun. Getting paid is not the only good thing. It's just the best thing.
Moe Lane Other aspiring writers. Heinlein's rules for writers seem to be appropriate:

You must write.
You must finish what you write.
You must refrain from rewriting, except to editorial order.
You must put the work on the market.
You must keep the work on the market until it is sold.

...Or you self-publish it yourself, so technically I'm cheating here.
Moe Lane A short story for my Patreon and my next book, which will not be set in the same universe as this one. On the other hand, I have a manuscript done that is set in the same universe. On the gripping hand, I still have to finish up the Kickstarter rewards.
Moe Lane I don't get inspired. It's more or less a habit at this point. I'm happier when I've written something that day.
Moe Lane I've always wanted to write a pulp detective novel, but I didn't know enough about the most common historical settings. So I decided to invent my own! It's much more efficient that way, and you don't have to do nearly as much research.
