Rachael Eckles I like James Clear's advice: fall in love with being bored. You might not want to sit in your chair and write - just like you may not want to run every single day when training for a marathon - but the act of doing so is the best way to keep the flow of ideas. If you are going to take a break, do so completely and without guilt.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Rachael Eckles It seemed like the most natural progression of Celeste's story. I've always loved a good story with a powerful FMC taking on the world, and I was so excited to see how her story evolves.

How do you get inspired to write?

Rachael Eckles Because my novels take place all around the world, I love visiting new places and mapping out scenes there once I've felt the energy of a town or city. I also include the hottest restaurants or theater in my books, which makes dining out at the latest hotspot that much more fun!

What are you currently working on?

Rachael Eckles I just finished the third book, Blind Trust, in the Celeste Donovan Series. I can't wait for you to discover what happens next in Celeste's world.

As a publisher, I am announcing my Aspiring Authors Program next week. It has been such an incredible adventure to release my own words out into the world. I am thrilled to be a part of new authors doing the same. We need new, fresh voices. Aphrodite Books is looking for unique perspectives!

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Rachael Eckles I've learned so many things since I began writing in 2012. The best advice I can give for any sort of writing: open a new document, write "Title Page" or "Working Title" on the front page, and begin. The time you spend sitting in the chair allowing the creative process to work its way to you is invaluable. Trust that you are being guided to facilitate the words and perspectives that only you can deliver. The world needs your words - so don't let fear discourage you.

Can you tell us a two-sentence horror story?

Rachael Eckles A highly contagious virus was released into the world because someone ate an undercooked bat. The pathogen spread silently before the world began to take steps to control it, and it ravaged the health and economies of nearly all developed nations.
