A terrible fear of flying. When my children were 4 and 3 years old, whenever I got on a flight for my work as a litigation attorney, I would inevitably think, "If this plane went down, my girls wouldn't remember a thing about me."
In deciding that I would write a book of advice for them and in essence a Manual for Life, my inspiration and motivation was completing this before an untimely and premature death. There is no more pressing mandate than this. Also, it was much more fun to do this creative writing as opposed to the legal writing that I normally do.
