Deborah Wallace I think I answered this one telling about my current story. A lot of ideas come to me in that twilight time before I'm fully awake in the morning. Or I see a couple together and wonder about their lives.
Deborah Wallace This is book two in my "Choice" series, which I thought would be a standalone when I wrote the first one, but I had to give a secondary character his own story. Jerry is trying to find the identity of a stalker who is leaving threatening notes and presents for the woman he's falling for. The woman happens to be the widow of the serial killer from the previous book.

Deborah Wallace I can come up with all these situations for my characters to get into, and out of. I love putting together the puzzles of their lives.
Deborah Wallace Two things. Sometimes I'll work on a later chapter in the book or a totally different writing project.

If I'm having difficulty with a particular scene, I'll stew on it for a few days.
