As yet, I am glad to say I haven't had to face that problem. On the contrary, my issue is not being able to type fast enough to keep up with my mind. I have always had a fertile imagination and generally have at least a half dozen potential stories wizzing around in my head.

Speaking for myself, the best thing about being a writer is finding those readers who love what you produce enough to encourage you to keep writing.

Try not to be discouraged. Do you utmost to keep the spark alive that encouraged you to begin writing to begin with. Like me, you most likely took up writing because you had a story/stories you felt interesting enough that you merely wanted to share with others. That alone is enough for any writer to plug away. Join Goodreads, and search for Facebook groups to do with books, writing, etc because there you will encounter others only too willing to help you with your writing. Remember, you will encounter nothing new as your writing progresses, countless others have trodden that same path — and they will help you wnever you falter and stumble.

Over the last few years, however, I've read books by well known authors who approached the folk hero's story from different angles which got me to thinking of other alternatives. A TV show based on DNA investigations and genealogy, etc brought on a seed of an idea and blossomed into my first historical fiction,
The Archer's Diary.
