Corrine Dalton Being honest with yourself in a fictional way. It's a paradox. Even though you're creating a new world, new people... it only works by being vulnerable and honest with yourself. It's also the most frightening thing.
Corrine Dalton I’m currently working on a book about a girl struggling with OCD. As someone who has it herself, hopefully I can do it justice. It’s going to be some time before it’s out though.
Corrine Dalton “If the Cardinal Flies Home” was largely based off of personal experience. I wish I could say it was the romance... but that was purely fiction! I was diagnosed with depression as a teenager and went to therapy for only three visits before I decided I hated it. Later in life, I went back to it and have enjoyed the process. The volunteer work was also a part of my life, though I’m no Isaiah Davis. So much of it has to do with my friendships, reading through it makes me smile. Hopefully it does for everyone else.
Corrine Dalton Just try it. Don’t fear rejection. Enjoy the process. Write for fun first, then all your writing will be fun, whether you want to make a name for it or not.
