Hi I'm so sorry to hear that! FRIEDA the sequel to The Woman and the Witch is out now and I'm currently finishing off the third in the series which I hope will be out late April early May
Amanda Larkman
You should probably read them in order as they are a Trilogy - Woman and the Witch first then Frieda. Hope to have the third one out this year

Thanks, Gary - really pleased you liked the Bookbinder and thanks for the review! I don’t know why you can’t find the Woman and the Witch on Amazon - that’s a bit worrying! Here’s a link - let me know if it doesn’t work

I’ve heard of that paint! Good idea for a story. I write late at night and during the holidays.

Thank you for reading and your question! Liz was a character who jumped into my head fully formed as a damaged person with tremendous artistic and creative talent. She’d let her obsession overwhelm her to such an extent she’d lost the ability to see what she could achieve. Just before I wrote the book I got a bit obsessed myself with a shop window near me of a bookbinder. His window was completely chaotic and I asked him if I could come in and look around. I loved examining the tools and machines he had there along with the leather and paper (and dust!). I kept thinking ‘Liz would hate this, she’d reorganise it straightaway and clear out the clutter’. I think that’s when her job as a bookbinder solidified. I did quite a lot of research into how books were made and how books can be re-covered - which was most enjoyable. I called the book The Bookbinder because really it’s Liz’s story. So, no background in bookbinding just a keen, amateur interest!

Whatever happened to the beautiful Marcasite necklace my grandparents gave me? When they died I was given a letter where they told me the necklace would lead me to solve a family secret. By the time I received it, the necklace had been borrowed and never returned many years ago.

A thriller with a provisional title of 'Green Eyes'
I also have written a crime caper but when I sent it to an agent she replied that the central character (entirely based on me) was 'an idiot, and utterly unconvincing'.

Jumping into an imaginary world and just writing it all out in a lovely big flood.

Sometimes nothing. I just sit and stare at the screen. The only way I can get through it is my FORCING myself to write. Even. If. It. Is. A. Single. Word. At. A. Time.
Painful, really painful, but it works.

Good question! The world of 'What Katy Did', where I could sit with the family and eat some of their freshly cooked 'jumbles' whatever they were.
'Captain Corelli's Mandolin' so I could whack Corelli around the head and tell him to go and talk to Pelagia rather than sodding off around the world with years with his 'other mandolins'
