Currently, I am a children's picture book author. I love to read mystery books in my spare time but currently I have no plans on writing a mystery book. Thank you for your question.

As long as the ideas are flowing together, I will stay with it but as soon as I an struggling to put my ideas together, I will close the manuscript up, but will continue to jot down notes on paper for when I return to the work. Once I return to the manuscript, I will take my jotted notes and continue working on my notes. I will also read other children's books to get some thoughts and ideas on how they work.

I have received great feedback on my book, children have thanked me for writing this book, they truly enjoy reading it. That was my goal, to engage children, develop young minds with books and to provide enjoyment for children. It is great to have these thoughts that you can put down in words and pictures to bring your ideas to life, so amazing.

If this is something you really want to do, follow your dreams and never give up! I procrastinated for 10 years and finally decided that there was nothing to lose and so much to gain by publishing the book. My book is self published through Friesen Press and they have been incredible throughout the process, helping me every step along the way. Please follow your dreams, it is definitely worth it.

My lifelong dream has been to write a children's book, my two children loved books and now my four grandchildren enjoy them just as much. My inspiration has been my grandchildren, I feel that it is very important to introduce books into their lives, they can learn so much. Now that Frankie the Ferret has been published, I watch, listen and learn about the books that my grandchildren enjoy and are most interested in, I am currently working on a second book based on their interests.

Frankie the Ferret was a beloved family pet for nine years and after experiencing his funny little antics, I felt that would be a great book for young children. Ferrets are not as popular a pet as a dog or cat but they are incredibly smart and loving, but might not be for everyone, they do require plenty of care.
