E. Jean Simpson There are always things in the past that one wonders about. What happened at a certain place? What would have happened if? Those type of questions are always food for a book plot. Time travel type thing might be interesting. Thanks for your questions.
E. Jean Simpson I just wanted to make sure that I was being proactive on this question. In the 80's when I attended University of New Brunswick, it was still possible to get a BEd as a standalone degree. I got the BEd first. Later on, I went back and got the BA so I could go into the MA program. It was a lot of work but I do have all 3 from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
E. Jean Simpson In the type of work I do, it isn't all writing. Sometimes a break is useful, sometimes just going out and finding something that you love will keep you going toward something else. Follow your heart and love what you are doing!
E. Jean Simpson You get to create. You get to Acknowledge people in your life and thank them if you do Acknowledgement. You get a chance to do something not everyone does. You get a chance to show people something beautiful, or moving or inspiring. What could be better?
E. Jean Simpson Stop waiting for the right time, the good time, the appropriate time. If you want to get started, then get started. Pick up a computer, a pen, a camera. Believe in yourself and learn from everything you can. If you don't succeed, it shouldn't be because you didn't start. Sometimes just getting the book up is a big success. You've done something that you said you should and didn't look for reasons not to.
E. Jean Simpson Right now, working more on getting the book out there. Getting things sorted. I also have some personal spring work to do. Taking a bit of a breather right now from the book making.
E. Jean Simpson I've always said that I should do a book. The old, if I had time, if I get the time thing. Well, I figured when the current sad situation came up, if I was going to go on about if I had the time, well...I had no excuse. I had the time. So, better to use it. Having some health issues of my own, I know that nothing is guaranteed and if you don't take the time when you're given it in such a in your face way, then you're just ignoring a gift. Guess it was a case of put your money where your mouth is type thing.
E. Jean Simpson I was thinking, for quite some time that I should do a book. I've had over 20 years of travel in Canada and thought it would be great to do something with all my experiences. So many places are wonderful to see but not everyone can get to them. So, this gives a taste of what we have to offer. Canada is a diverse and amazing country with so much beauty. I wanted to share it with the world. So, started my amazing journey of 3 books. One Rocky Mountains, one of flowers that I took over the years and the first of my books, probably my least favourite as I learned things along the way and may think of updating and improving on it in the future is the PEI one. It's a beautiful Province and I don't feel I did justice to it. But it was the first book and you do tend to see all the mistakes as you go. Thanks!
