My advice is just go with it - Sit down and start writing! Don't wait for the "right moment", don't wait for the "best idea" to pop into your mind.
I'm new writer myself so I know what is working for me - I just sit down and do it, and then a remarkable thing happens - that "moment" appears and the best ideas come along :-)

Sometimes I do get writer's blocks. It's frustrating and annoying, especially when you know there's some good stuff hidden in your head, behind that block...
So when that happens I just call my friends and family (only the close ones) and talk about the story. I ask for their opinion about the plot, and basically doing some brainstorming which always helps.
After that I just force myself to get back to my laptop and continue to write the next chapter. Usually this routine helps :-)

Wow... That's a tough one. For me, the reason I started writing was because I knew I had some good idea for a book, and didn't want to be the single person on earth that enjoys it...
So in my case the answer is simple - the best thing about being a writer is knowing that others are enjoying the story at least like you :-)

I'm so thrilled to work on the sequel to CHASING THE PROPHET. It's a real challenge since the 1st book in the series is based on an idea which is pretty surprising and original (anyway that's what i thought...) So my main concern is to make the second one even better.
That being said, I'm doing my best to finish the book and publish it soon. Many readers are waiting for it...
