Read as much as you can and write as much as you can. At the same time give yourself time to dream. I was told off for daydreaming at school but for a writer I think it is an essential ingredient. Also, don't be in a rush. Some books take time to evolve - they too need space.

Well I've just finished an adult novel which I hope will form the first of a series and I am also working on another YA novel about a girl who is estranged from her father and grandparents.

My most recent book, which I have just completed, is for adults and is part contemporary romance, part ghost story. The idea for this came from a holiday which we took as a family and a solitary walk through a graveyard where I saw some names which resonated.
