Jo Ann A. Mathews I force myself to write even if I later delete most of what I've written. Some of the words and ideas do stick and good comes from them.

Jo Ann A. Mathews Choose a topic. Do the research needed. Write it. Then market it. I wrote for two years every single day including Easter, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day before I got an acceptance. Since then I've had about 2,500 articles published plus my 3 ebooks and my blog.

Jo Ann A. Mathews Two assignments I have for Carolina Marketing Company in Brunswick County, N.C. All the stories I write for them concern local people, events, schools or businesses. I love it! I'm also marketing the first novel of a trilogy I've written.
Jo Ann A. Mathews Inspiration is fleeting! I start writing at 8:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday and write until noon. I take time to shop, swim and run errands and come back to writing around 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. I might go back to my computer to change a word or sentence or paragraph before I go to sleep around 11:30.
On Sundays I write from 1-5 or so. If you want to get things written, you have to put your seat in a chair and write.
Jo Ann A. Mathews Because this year, 2020, is the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, which is the right of women to vote. Basically, it says, voting cannot be denied because of the sex you are. The amendment was ratified August 18, 1920.
