Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Tim Witte My book, Back to God, started as an attempt to take various essays that I had written over the past twenty years and put them into a gospel presentation. In the process I needed to fill in some gaps and rewrite the old material to make it cohesive (and hopefully reflect twenty years of God's sanctifying work in me).

How do you get inspired to write?

Tim Witte When reading Scripture or encountering some situation that reminds me of a gospel principle, I will often make a note to remind me to pursue it further in writing.

What are you currently working on?

Tim Witte I am focusing on my blog which currently is going through the Psalms.

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Tim Witte I will try to have an outline of what I am wanting to write. Then I just start writing phrases or sentences that come to mind. They may even seem random. Usually something will emerge that inspires me to pursue a particular angle. Often it leads to something far different than what I outlined.
