Sophie Shaw I am working on an audiobook version of The Hare and The Moon, for anxious children to listen to at bedtimes. I'm also working on a full-colour special edition of the book to be released at Easter.

In the meantime, I have several more tales that follow on from this book, that I intend to become a series of healing fables.
Sophie Shaw I'm inspired by the natural world and the simple peace and healing it brings.

I'm also inspired by the difficulties that my son faces, and that my clients face. I try to wind those issues back to their beginnings, find a simple coping strategy that a child can understand and set it in the healing environment of the natural world.
Sophie Shaw As a therapist, I kept feeling that if children could get hold of these ideas early on - mindfulness, managing their emotions, resilience, etc - then it would set them up so well for their adult lives.

I wanted something that was aimed at the child who might already be beginning to experience difficulties with their mental health - not kindergarten age, but old enough to be able to imagine and reason and conceptualise the ideas in the book.

The title popped into my head fully-formed one day - I knew what it was called and what it was for - then I just had to write it!
