Saz Vora I travelled on a steam ship from East Africa to India as a child. I am researching more on that journey and aim to write a story about that ten day crossing.
Saz Vora Writer's block is a tricky one when I was writing the second book, Where Have We Come. I had a point where I couldn't find a suitable ending. My characters rebelled. I usually listen to music, read, trawl through the internet. It took two weeks of mulling over scenes in my head and on paper until I found the courage to go back to the story.
Saz Vora Telling a story from a different perspective. When I grew up, there weren't many writers I could identify with, so I was hooked on science fiction with its different worlds and alien characters. The world has changed and we have access to so many multicultural stories.
I'm also keen on hearing from my readers after all a writer isn't a writer unless they have readers.
Saz Vora Write, write write, don't spend too much time rewriting your first chapter. That will never work. I tend to write scenes as they come into my head and then see if they fit into my plot outline. If they don't use it don't fret. But it's just a scene with actions and dialogue, you might use it in another book. I keep a notebook, that my go-to or if you're on of those people who can write on a device, create notes.
Saz Vora I'm currently researching my next book, in the University Series Universe. The book is based in the UK, but there is a linked story based in India after the partition.
I am also writing a short story. loosely based on Jane Eyre, one of my all-time favourite book, based in UK and France
Saz Vora I read a lot of books, any genre works for me. I get my inspiration from hearing people talk about their life experiences and listening to music
Saz Vora The book is a prequel to my next book, which is semi-autobiographical. I was told by a writer friend that I should add information on how the couple met. I took inspiration from books I've read by Colleen Hoover for my research into the genre and mixed it up with Bollywood songs, my experience growing up in England.
