I don't beat myself up about it. There are days when I can't think of anything to write in any of my WIPs. That's fine. Ideas will come back soon enough. I think writers block is what happens when you start panicking about these days where nothing works and it becomes a downward spiral.

I currently have three WIPs.
1) A YA fantasy story which has a gamer-girl main character whose Highland dancing brother always gets into trouble. It's set in a small town in the Scottish lowlands.
2) A vampire story set in the Old West.
3) Something that might best be described as "literary romance" and which features some extremely dark themes but also a super-cute love-story.

Sometimes, a character will appear and demand I write them a story. I currently have a werewolf called Roux who is not happy I still haven't written his adventure. Sometimes, it can be an article, a song, something that happened to me personally. It's extremely varied.

A friend sent me an article about a stolen violin. Somehow that plus the coverage about the climate-catastrophe combined to what became "Prodigy".
