Linsey Knerl Honestly, I want to write all the time! Finding the moments to put my thoughts to the page is what I struggle with. I spend most of my day working on freelance projects, cooking, caring for the kids, homeschooling, and the day-to-day, all while having these ideas perculating in my brain.

For the non-fiction stuff, like my homeschool books and articles, I jot down notes when I can. For fiction stuff, like my horror or dark fiction, I try to take voice notes with my phone so I can articulate the mood or vibe I want to convey.

It may take a few hours or even a day before I can sit down and get to work, but I can usually pick up where my brain was when it got a great "aha" moment and get it written. My best ideas are still in the shower. I don't think I'm alone with that trend.
Linsey Knerl I'm a homeschooler and have always homeschooled my kids. I grew tired of hearing some of the falsehoods that became really popular around homeschooling. Things like "homeschoolers don't know how to socialize" or "you can't homeschool in high school" made me want to tear my hair out! When the pandemic forced a lot of families to rethink education, and homeschooling became a hot topic again, I found myself answering the same questions over and over, as well as dispelling so many of those old myths. I guess you could say that the timing was right for this book to finally be written, especially with so many parents scrambling to figure out their educational plan during so many school closures.
