Bill Yancey Thanks for the follow-up. And thanks for inviting me to your bookclub to discuss “Abandoned.” (Just realized you might not be from the Dell Webb community near me: Nocatee in NE Florida; sorry if that's not your home.) Your bookclub’s stories about your HOA and community provided some of the fodder for the book (in addition to the two HOAs to which my wife and I belong). It was great fun slipping them into the novel. Glad you enjoyed it. Hope others in your community do also. WIth luck they will all buy copies for friends and relatives. ;-D

Bill Yancey Hello Bill,
If you mean send a critique to me, send it to my email address: wbyauthor@bellsouth.net. Be happy to answer any other questions you may have, too. You can always put a REVIEW and/or a RATING here on Goodreads. Just search for the book by title on the home page, click on book cover, and write your review. The same is true with Amazon. I'd prefer an honest review, however short, to just a rating. Thanks for the interest.

Bill Yancey Hello Stacia,
Happy to hear I made you laugh. I think it's important that writing should be entertaining. I was in the Gulf of Tonkin for three navy cruises on two aircraft carriers from June 1967 until May 1969. Please thank your husband and brother for their service. Thank you for the note.
Bill
Bill Yancey I spent a year in internship, 2 years in residency, and a year in fellowship. A lot of the things I did wrong ended up in the book.
Bill Yancey How DID I get inspired to write?

In grade school, I lived on an air force base in Holland. There was little for kids to do, so I spend an inordinate amount of time reading sci-fi books in the library.

How DO I get inspired to write?

I don't know.
Bill Yancey Nothing. I am retired. Actually, I am trying to promote Reluctant Intern without spending any money. Please buy a copy! ;-D
Bill Yancey Get a real job. Very few writers can support themselves by writing. Many who can support themselves still have real jobs because they need the interaction with others for stimulus.
Bill Yancey Living in your own imaginary world, and changing it to suit your mood.
Bill Yancey I deal with writer's block by not writing. If I'm blocked, it usually means I have nothing worthwhile to write about. I will go run errands, do chores, read, etc. until my muse returns.
