D. Heyman Creating something that other people get to enjoy is easily the best thing about writing, and any creative pursuit in my opinion.
D. Heyman He waited for hours, though it felt closer to days. Yet, when he finally reached the front of the line they had already sold out of tickets to Frozen 2.
D. Heyman Write, read and write some more! Honestly the best advise I have ever been given by my writing professors and peers was to write a little bit every day. Terry Prattchet famously wrote, I think, just 300 words a day but he did it every day. You can edit bad writing, but you can't edit nothing.
D. Heyman Right now I have 2 novels and a short story on the go. Well, technically 3 novels, but one of those is with the editor so that is out of my hands for a little while. Both of the other novels are sequels, one to Escaping Fiction and the other is the sequel to the book currently being edited. The short story is based in my fictional world of Caer Innar and looks at the enigmatic character of the Woman in Blue.
D. Heyman My brain? Most of my ideas come from a backlogged pile of information built up from reading (too much?) mythology and fantasy. From this my brain spits out some cool ideas for me to work with, hopefully making something reasonably original in the process!
D. Heyman At the moment I am working my way through a backlog of Black Library publications, as well as my continuing quest to re-read all of the discworld novels. So mostly anything from those lists. The next discworld book to read is Mort though, and Death is absolutely one of my all time favorite characters so I am rather excited to be revisiting that.
D. Heyman I read or listen to music. I find doing something that is still creative but not reliant on my own creativity really helps me to get past those dry spells!
