I'd say for an actual mystery, tracing my genealogy. A lot of it is traceable, but there are a few things that are more legend than actual fact at this point. It would be interesting to see how much of it is actually true and where it would lead me.
More of an abstract mystery is the mystery of uncovering self. As a late-diagnosed Autistic person, there are so many things about myself that I am discovering late in life and it's an amazingly wonderful adventure every time I figure out something new. There are pieces of me in all of my main characters. Writing has been a great tool to reflect myself back to me. Most of the time I have no idea which parts of me are bleeding out on the pages until I start solving writing challenges and make the connection. I'm sure the journey I am taking would be interesting to translate into a fictional adventure.

I don't remember. I think it came to me while I was driving one day. Most of my ideas happen when I am in the shower or the car.

It was completely accidental. I had to give up a career in a field I had been working in for 18 years. It was a huge change and I went through a period of depression for a bit. Finally I decided I needed something to do and the characters started talking to me. I decided to see where it was going, and here I am.

My advice is the same as was given to me:
Stop overthinking it and write.
Don't worry about everyone else's writing process or how many books they already have out. Find your own process and focus on your own work.

The best thing...
I guess seeing how the story is going to play out as I'm writing. It's just as much of a surprise to me as anyone else.

Honestly, I just let myself have it. I don't try to fight it. Being on the Autism spectrum has given me a different way of processing. I've learned to respect it.

It is the fifteenth of the month. Bills are due.

That literally changes with every book I read. I want to go wherever I am reading about. If I had to pick just one place to visit, I think I would visit Wonderland. I'd probably regret it, but it seems like it would be a wild ride. No idea what I would do there other than just wander around and take in the oddity.

9/18/19: Since there are technically only two days of summer left, it is a short list. Up next on my reading list is the On the Radio trilogy by Pandora Pine.
