Kaydee Robins I read. Sometimes I'll watch TV but honestly I like reading, I always have. Sometimes I'll play a mindless game on my phone to get out of my head. Or I'll shelve the book and start another idea that I have in my head.
Kaydee Robins Making the story myself. There's so many times when I am reading a story where I come up with a different story line that could have happened when I'm reading it. When I write I get to make up that story line and sometimes I start writing and then change my mind about something and that's okay because it's my story.
Kaydee Robins Write what's in your heart, don't worry about social norms if you do you'll never get anywhere. And don't get discouraged. My first book released about 9 months ago did okay, but the few publishers I submitted it to didn't want to take it on. There were also a couple of negative reviews that helped me fix typos and grammatical errors. If someone doesn't like your writing it's not the end of the world and it is their loss not yours.
Kaydee Robins A Marshal and his Witness, which is the last book in the Eclipse series. I have also started a new series called New Alphas. Book 1 is titled, Omega of the Enemy. I'm about 12k words into Marshal but still on page one of Omega. The character backgrounds and bios are already written in detail for Omega though so I'm expecting to release it soon after Marshal which releases at the end of June.
Kaydee Robins It just pops into my brain, always has. When I was a teenager I would write boy-band fan fictions because you know that was the thing then. As I got older I got to busy with stuff to write much of anything but ideas would pop into my head and I would have conversations with myself on the way into work. No I am not crazy, I knew I wasn't talking to myself but actually having character conversations. Anyway, the short of it, I find inspiration from the world around me and from other books.
Kaydee Robins Well I am finishing up the last of the Eclipse series of books. The original MCs, Danny and Liam where spawned from a book that I read. There was a teenage transgender in that book that inspired me. Furthermore, my own 13 year old is struggling with her gender identity. So, Danny was born, and from Danny so was Liam.
The next series which I am starting on was inspired in part by the COVID-19 pandemic oddly enough, but being stuck inside for weeks on end inspired me to create a post apocalyptic world. My daughters constant obsession with all Asian pop inspired one of the main characters, Iggy. He has similar features to her favorite idols.
